As u mentioned cel type talks about size of a cell (very small, small, medium and large) ,
This information will not help to UE any how ,But this info is help ful for Neighboring ENBs,so that they can know from where the UE came and can judge the handover failure (due to interference too ).

This we send in UE history info which contains the info about the last visited ENODEBs .

If X2 is there is there Neighbour ENB get this info history info in X2- HandoverRequest message otherwise it can also come in sourceenbtotargetenb transparent container in S1AP messages

If I am right, an eNodeB can support multiple cells and each cell has different pci.
Now suppose enodeB has two cells i.e cell1 and cell2. If I am going right, both the cell(s) should have different PCIs.
I have assumed UE is attached to cell1 and due to mobility, it is moved to cell2. During this movement, what message shall be exchanged between UE and enodeB. And Is there any message send to MME regarding the new cell ?

Need clarity on following items:
1. What is the use of "UE selected plmn" information for an eNodeB ?
2. Is the ECGI/TAI constructed based on the primary plmn (PLMN broadcasted in 0th index in SIB1 ) or based on the UE selected PLMN ?

I was looking into IEs of handover required and handover command messages defined in 36.413 specification.
Sending "handover type" in handover required message towards the MME make sense but again get back the same IE in handover command message from MME in the handover command message, I could not make out the reason behind it.
Can someone please explain the reason of presence of "Handover Type" IE in the handover command message when eNodeB already knows which type of request it sent to MME for an UE ?

Is there any possibility MME can change the type of Handover in handover command message ? If yes then what could be the scenarios ?
